Plug-Power Cord Related Standards
Types of power cords around the world

(Four types are often used) The difference and use of power cords

1. European plug

①, European plug: also known as French standard plug, also known as pipe plug

The plug has supplier and supplier specification model such as: KE-006 YX-002, etc. and the certification of various countries: (D (Denmark); N (Norway); S (Sweden); VDE (Germany); FI (Finland); IMQ (Italy); KEMA (Netherlands); CEBEC (Belgium).

Product suffix: N/1225

②. The power cord identification indicates the band code: H05VV□□F 3G 0.75mm2:

H: Indicates European regulations, EU logo

05: Indicates the withstand voltage strength of the power cord (03: 300V 05: 500V)

VV: the front V surface wire core insulation layer, the rear V represents the sheath insulation layer of the power cord, VV: if it is represented by RR, it is represented as a rubber insulation layer, such as VV: if it is represented by N, it is neoprene;

□□: The front "□" is a special band code, and the rear "□" indicates a flat line, such as adding H2 to indicate a flat two-core line;

F: Indicates that the line is a soft body line

3: Indicates the number of internal cores

G: means ground

0.75mA: Indicates the cross-sectional area of the power cord

European gauge line marking instructions

③, PVC: The material refers to the material that strengthens the insulating layer and has a high temperature resistance below 80°C, and the soft PVC has a hardness of 78° 55°. The larger the number, the harder the temperature resistance. , use the same soft body hardness (PVC) soft body line.

2. English insert

①, British plug: 240V 50HZ withstand voltage 3750V 3S 0.5mA, fuse (3A 5A 10A 13A) (FVSE) → fuse, size requirements: total length 25-26.2mm, middle diameter 4.7-6.3mm, metal cap diameter at both ends 6.25- 6.5mm (screen printing BS1362);

②. The internal line of its plug (disconnect the BS plug, which is on the right side of the L line (fire), connect the fuse, the length of the ground wire must be greater than 3 times the length of the (live wire, neutral wire), loosen the fixing screw and pull it out with external force The wire ground must come off last (the set screws holding the three wires must be tapered).

③. The identification of the power cord is the same as that of the European plug.

3. American plug

①, American plug: 120V 50/60HZ is divided into two-core wire, three-core wire and polar, non-polar, the power plug copper sheet to the United States must have a rubber sleeve;

The line with the two-core line printed on it represents the live wire; the polar plug with the large pin is the zero line, and the pin with the small pin is the live line (the concave-convex surface of the power cord is zero, and the round surface of the line is the live line);

②, American power cord types: NISPT-2 double-layer insulated flat wire, SPT-1W single-layer insulated grooved flat wire, SJTW waterproof power cord, SJTO oil-proof power cord, etc.

American power cord plug (5 pieces)

NISPT-2: NISPT means double-layer insulation, -2 surface two-core wire core insulation outer insulation;

XTV and SPT: Indicates a single-layer insulating layer, -2 surface two-core wire (the wire body is grooved, and the outer insulation is directly wrapped with copper core conductor);

SPT-3: Indicates a single-layer insulation with ground wire, -3 indicates a three-core wire (the wire body is grooved, and the ground wire in the middle is double-layer insulation);

Both SPT and NISPT are bias wires, and SVT is double-layer insulation for round wires. Core insulation Outer insulation

③, American plugs generally use the certification number without directly marking the UL pattern on the plug. Such as: E233157 E236618

④、The difference between American plug wire and European plug wire:

The European plug is represented by "H";

How many wires are used for the US standard, such as: 2×1.31mm2 (16AWG), 2×0.824mm2 (18AWG): VW-1 (or HPN) 60℃ (or 105℃) 300V

2: Indicates the number of wire cores;

1.31 or 0.824 mm2: means: the cross-sectional area of the wire core;

16AWG: Indicates the cross-sectional area of the core die, which corresponds to mm2 above;

VW-1 or HPN: VW-1 is PVC material; HPN: Neoprene material

60°C or 150°C is the temperature resistance of the power cord;

300V: The withstand voltage strength of the power cord is different from that of the European standard (the European standard is represented by 03 or 05).

4. Japanese plugs: PSE, JET

VFF 2*0.75mm2 -F-

①, VFF: V represents the wire material PVC; FF is the single-layer insulating layer with groove wire body;

②, VCTFK: VC surface wire material PVC; TFK is a double-layer insulation layer bias wire, outer insulation layer, inner insulation layer, copper core wire;

③, VCTF: VC means the wire material PVC; TF is the double-layer insulated round wire;

④. There are two types of power cords: one is 3×0.75mm2, the other is 2×0.75mm2

3×0.75mm2: 3 means the three-core wire; 0.75mm2 means the cross-sectional area of the wire core;

⑤、F: Indicates the material of the soft wire;

⑥, Japanese plug three-core wire plug has only two blades, and the ground wire is directly locked on the socket (good safety performance and convenience).

Five, the rated current of the appliance corresponds to the use of the cross-sectional area of the soft wire:

①. The cross-sectional area of the flexible cord for appliances greater than 0.2 and less than or equal to 3A: 0.5 and 0.75mm2

②. The cross-sectional area of the flexible cord for appliances greater than 3A and less than or equal to 6A: 0.75 and 1.0mm2

③. The cross-sectional area of the flexible cord for appliances greater than 6A and less than or equal to 10A: 1.0 and 1.5mm2

④. The cross-sectional area of the flexible cord for appliances greater than 10A and less than or equal to 16A: 1.5 and 2.5mm2

⑤、Appliances larger than 16A and less than or equal to 25A shall apply the cross-sectional area of the flexible cord: 2.5 and 4.0mm2

⑥、Appliances larger than 25A and less than or equal to 32A shall apply the cross-sectional area of the flexible cord: 4.0 and 6.0mm2

⑦、Appliances larger than 32A and less than or equal to 40A shall apply the cross-sectional area of the flexible cord: 6.0 and 10.0mm2

⑧. The cross-sectional area of the application cord for appliances greater than 40A and less than or equal to 63A: 10.0 and 16.0mm2

Product suffix plug

The international general standard for product suffix is IEC 60320, and the male and female plugs can be divided into

Suffix: IEC 60320 C7, C8

Plum blossom inserts: IEC 60320 C5, C6

Product suffix: IEC 60320 C13, C14

High current product suffix: IEC 60320 C19, C20
